Switching the selector from the position «R»
Your vehicle is equipped with a selector lever lock system «R» when pressing the brake pedal. Before switching the selector from position «R» you need to turn on the ignition (turn the ignition key to position «ON») and fully depress the brake pedal.
Attention: if you were unable to switch the selector, you must do the following:
- turn off the ignition (ignition key in position «OFF») and remove the key from the ignition;
- fully depress and hold the brake pedal;
- insert the key into the gear lock slot;
- switch the selector to position «N»;
- pulling the key out of the blocking slot, insert it into the ignition lock and start the engine;
- move the selector to the position corresponding to the desired gear.
If this phenomenon occurs again, contact a service station immediately.
Gear shift
Moving the selector between the corresponding positions of the automatic transmission must be done in the direction of the black and / or white arrows, deflecting the selector towards the passenger.
Shifting in the direction of the black arrows requires depressing the brake pedal. Gear shifting in the direction of the white arrows is carried out while driving and does not require braking.
Selector position P, R and N
Position «R» (parking). The front drive wheels are mechanically blocked from rotation. Move the selector lever to position «R» only after the vehicle has come to a complete stop and the parking brake is applied.
Position «n» (reverse). It is forbidden to include the lever in this position until the vehicle has come to a complete stop.
Position «N» (neutral). The automatic transmission is in neutral (none of the gears).
Attention: the fuel supply is automatically cut off if the range selector lever is in the position «R» or «N» and the engine starts to idle at a high speed of the crankshaft.
Ranges «D4», «2» And «1»
Range «D4» (movement). The selector lever must always be in this position while the vehicle is moving under normal road conditions. In the range «D4» Automatic shifting of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears is provided. Fourth (raising) transmission reduces engine speed and engine noise, as well as improves vehicle fuel efficiency.
After starting the engine and turning on the range «D4» The automatic transmission operates in an economical mode, that is, gear changes in the gearbox are carried out according to a program that ensures high fuel efficiency of the car.
Range «2»
In the range «2» shifting from first to second gear is ensured and shifting to 3rd and 4th gears is prevented. The automatic transmission works mainly in second gear. However, when you fully press the accelerator pedal, the automatic transmission automatically switches to the first stage.
Turn Range «2» to increase traction when driving on long slopes in hilly and mountainous terrain, to improve the efficiency of engine braking on steep descents, as well as to more confidently start the car on slippery road surfaces.
Attention: when towing a trailer, it is forbidden to move off with the range on «2».
Range» 1»
Turning on the range «1» provides the best possible engine braking performance when driving on steep descents. In the range «1» the gearbox is constantly in first gear.
