Generator device CS-121D

Generator CS-121D (the number means the outer diameter in millimeters of the stator lamination) is a three-phase alternator with an output three-phase full-wave rectifier (built-in diode bridge consisting of 6 semiconductor diodes). The charging voltage is regulated by an electronic voltage regulator included in the excitation winding circuit of the generator (rotor winding), which changes the parameters of the current flowing through the excitation winding. The regulator turns on and off the current of the rotor windings. By varying the on-off time, the correct average system voltage is achieved. At high speeds, the on time can be 10% and the off time 90%. At low speed and high electrical load, the on time can be 90% and the off time 10%.

The charging process is controlled by an indicator lamp located on the instrument panel. If the charging indicator lamp is on while the engine is running, this indicates a problem with the charging system.
